Assessments
Assessments help to identify the full range of your child’s health and educational needs.
They give a start from which to plan your child’s immediate future.
Once your child is assessed by the local health office, you will have:
- an assessment report related to their hearing loss and / or other issues
- a better picture of their health and educational needs
- a statement of the support services they will receive
Make sure you are satisfied with your child’s assessment and the support services offered.
Ask questions if any issues are not fully understood or resolved at the time.
Then you can start making informed decisions about your child’s future.
Assessments should continue through the child’s early years and beyond.
A parents’ guide to assessments can be downloaded for further information.
