    Facebook Prize-Draw for World Book Day Ireland

    IDK Attends Creativity: Unlocked International Training Course

    IDK’s Caroline Carswell attended the Creativity: Unlocked international training course from July 12 to 18, 2010, in Salzburg, Austria. Seven EU countries were represented at this event for individuals working with young people to learn about using creative tools & accessing their own creativity.

    Arts Council Invites IDK To Future Arts: FYI Conference

    The Arts Council invited IDK to bring three to five deaf teens/young adults (aged 15 to 23) to a EU-funded 3-day seminar in Dublin, March 27-29, 2010, with communication support. The event, Future Arts: FYI, consisted of a series of arts-based workshops & discussions, ending with dialogue between young people, arts policy makers & government representatives.

    IDK’s 2010 Calendar Campaign Kicks Off

    Social Inclusion Week at South Dublin County Council (Nov 2009)

    South Dublin County Council’s Social Inclusion Week runs from November 9th – 13th. IDK’s contribution on November 10th, is an inclusive reading of “A Birthday for Ben” with Elizabeth Mathews & Dee Byrne-Dunne, at County Library, Tallaght from 10am to 11.30am. All are welcome.


    Learning Language Is Fun! at RuaRed (December 5, 2009)

    Social Inclusion Week at Dunlaoghaire-Rathdown (October 2009)

    IDK’s contribution includes:

    • Reading of “A Birthday for Ben” with author, Kate Gaynor
    • Exhibition of drawings from the book by deaf artist, Karen Quirke

    Learning Language Is Fun! For Parents & Kids

    IDK and Helium will hold their Learning Language Is Fun! creative play sessions at the National Cochlear Implant Unit in Dublin on these dates:

    • May 26: 9.30am to 11.30am
    • June 2: 9.30am to 11.30am
    • June 9: 9.30am to 11.30am

    with one session at a community venue in December 2009 (date TBC).
