    Fire-fighting isn’t an obvious career for a lad who’s deaf, but with successful interviews for his new role, a bit of fire-fighting history may have happened.

    Justin Sarna wears hearing-aids and spent much of his final year in high school, dealing with rejection letters from prospective employers applied to.

    His parents see his new role as a testament to his perseverance that year, and proceeding even when people said ‘no, no, no’ to his job applications.
