Baby Books & Flash Cards For Language Teaching

    By caroline | January 21, 2009

The Usborne book range recently came to my attention, with a big bonus: free postage for books ordered by email from the representative in Ireland.

The “Baby’s First Flashcards” product would be excellent for language work at home, while being fun for babies and parents to look at and hold.

Infants from 3 months upward have the option of a sharp graphic design on one side, as they learn to focus their eyes.

Older babies will enjoy the softer, more detailed design on the reverse of these cards – which make a good teaching point as their language develops.

Multi-sensory books in the range encourage development of hand-eye co-ordination, the teaching of numbers and letters, game-playing and fun.

There’s a touchy-feely flashcards product to teach picture-word recognition, bath books, concept books (beach, holiday, job) & others – the list is infinite!

These books are also fabulous for children with language delays such as autism or Down syndrome!

      Hi Sandra,

Thanks for your query: just to clarify what you need. Is it the game “Snap” in Irish and in English, with both languages on the same cards? Or should the words be in Irish only? Check if the TalkIrish website has what you need.

      Caroline
